Diane Parker

Hello, I’m Diane – it’s good to meet you. I’m looking forward to working with you.
I have almost 20 years’ experience as a creativity coach and creative arts therapist, with a background in theatre, performance, writing and publishing. I am also a trained dance movement psychotherapist who has worked in a range of settings over the past 10 years, including prisons, the NHS and community mental health.
Alongside my coaching practice, I am an applied theatre practitioner, and I’m especially passionate about the power of theatre to tell stories, build communities and change the political and social landscape. I am also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community  and I firmly believe in the power of collaboration and community in effecting change and transformation.
My abiding passion is for working with people, much like myself, who might be on the brink of a transition or find themselves at a crossroads, and want support in navigating that with grace and fortitude. I have been here myself on a regular basis, and each time I have found encouragement and inspiration in reaching out to my community or speaking with a skilled coach or mentor. You might be a social entrepreneur or creative leader, and want to take your business or project to the next level. You might be struggling with your relationships, at home or work, and want to explore ways of creating and developing healthier patterns of relating. Perhaps you have an idea for a creative project, and want to find the confidence to take that first step, or maybe you simply want to express your creativity more and bring it further and deeper into your everyday life. Maybe you’ve just had enough of dancing to someone else’s tune, and want to take some space and time to reflect on who you are and what it is that you really want, before the world told you who you should be. Whatever you hope to gain from our work together, I firmly believe that the answers already lie within you. If you’re ready to start living life from the inside out, come and work with me!

I wanted to say how supportive and helpful I found our coaching sessions. After only two sessions, the support I felt and the visualisations were instrumental in helping me recognise I wanted to leave my teaching job and strike out into other ventures. I realise now that my main block was seeing myself leaving my current job and allowing myself to realise that I can try something new. As you said, I was the one with the answers. I can't thank you enough for the time and space to listen to myself.

I'd like to say thank you so very much for your coaching. Your guidance was brilliant, and you are excellent at what you do. You have a wonderfully patient, positive and insightful approach to coaching, and your advice has drastically improved my self-perception over the last 4 months. I am so happy with how different I feel now, thanks to you. You have made such a big difference to my life and helped me make moves towards my ambitions through your encouragement and support. Thank you again for everything.

I have learned to show up for myself, to change my all-or-nothing thinking, to find the glimmers of joy. When I think back to our first session, I was so lost and heartbroken. I have now passed my exam with flying colours, and am due to start a new job. I am nervous and excited, but I know my greatest challenge going forward is myself. If I can learn to get out of my own way, I will be fine. Thank you for giving me space to explore and for all of your support the past 6 months.

I rate your services to be among one of the best things that has happened in my life. You have not only supported me in moving forward; you’ve injected that magic into getting me there in style!
